    The Challenge

Roots Counseling & Wellness runs a full service practice out of Cedar City and sees clients virtually across Utah. That creates two very different search problems. Locally, people search for a therapist in Cedar City. Statewide, they search for online therapy in St. George, Salt Lake City, Provo or Moab. A single homepage cannot answer both. On top of that, the service list runs deep: individual, couples, family, group, telehealth, life skills coaching, alternative therapies, mental health assessments and ketamine treatment. Someone looking specifically for EMDR or ketamine is not going to dig for it, and someone in crisis needs a number immediately, not a nav menu.

    Problems Identified

    • One practice serving a local city and the entire state online
    • Nine distinct services buried in a single list
    • Clinical modality names that intimidate first time clients
    • People in crisis needing immediate numbers, not navigation
    • No landing pages for the telehealth cities they legally can serve

    What We Built

Every service got its own page, from individual counseling through ketamine treatment, so a specific search lands on a specific answer. Telehealth got its own set of city pages covering Southern Utah, Central Utah and the Wasatch Front, with a service areas index tying them together. The therapy approach section explains DBT, IFS, EMDR and motivational interviewing in plain language, then says outright that you do not need to know what they mean, that is their job. A crisis section sits on the homepage with 911, the 988 lifeline, the UNI crisis line and the domestic violence hotline, because a site in this category has a duty of care beyond marketing. Appointment requests and the existing patient portal both live in the header so new and returning clients are never in the same funnel.

A search for couples counseling in Cedar City and a search for online therapy in Provo now land on two different pages that both belong to Roots. The clinical depth is visible without being intimidating, and anyone in crisis finds a number before they find a form.
