If your Google profile goes down, you disappear from the map.
Most owners find out weeks later, after a slow month they cannot explain. The map pack sits above the organic results, so when the listing breaks, the calls stop before anything else does.
A Business Profile is not set and forget.
People treat the profile like a form they filled out once. Name, address, phone, hours, a few photos, done. Then they never look at it again, which is a problem, because Google keeps looking at it and so does everyone else.
Profiles get suspended. Sometimes for a rule you did not know existed, sometimes after a routine edit trips a review. Duplicates appear out of nowhere and quietly split your reviews across two listings. Categories drift as Google reworks its own list. Strangers suggest edits to your hours and your address, and those edits can go live without anyone telling you. Photos go stale until the most recent job on your listing is from three seasons ago.
None of that announces itself. There is no alert, no email, no red banner on your desk. The phone just gets quieter. Then someone blames the website, or the ads, or the season, and the actual cause sits there unfixed for another month.
That is why this is a monitoring service rather than a setup project. Setting the profile up correctly takes an afternoon. Keeping it correct is the part nobody does.
What we do every month.
Someone is looking at your profile on a schedule so you do not have to think about it.
Suspension and status monitoring
We check that the profile is live and visible, not just that it exists in a dashboard. A suspension can happen quietly after an edit, an address change, or a category change. Catching it the week it happens is very different from finding out at the end of a slow quarter.
Duplicate detection and consolidation
Duplicate listings split your reviews, split your ranking signals, and send some of your customers to a profile nobody is watching. They show up on their own, usually from an old listing service or a former employee. We look for them and get them merged or removed.
Category and service accuracy
Categories decide which searches you are even eligible for. They drift as Google changes its list and as your business changes what it sells. We keep the primary category right, keep the secondary ones sensible, and keep your service list matching the work you actually do.
The full services list
This is the field almost nobody fills in and it is the one that moved most this year. Google suggests dozens of predefined services for your category and most profiles have three of them checked. We add every service you actually perform, write a real description on each one, and add custom services for the work Google did not think to suggest. In a 2026 survey of 47 local search professionals scoring 187 ranking factors, having the predefined services filled in ranked third among the factors that affect whether AI tools recommend you.
Photos on a regular cadence
Fresh job photos posted on a schedule, not a folder dumped once and left for three years. Send us what you shot on site and we handle sizing, captions, and posting. A profile with current work looks like a business that is busy.
Review monitoring and response support
We watch for new reviews so a bad one does not sit unanswered for a month. We draft responses for you to approve, including the hard ones, and we write them specific to the job rather than templated, because a generic reply is worth close to nothing. You know the situation better than we do, so you always have final say.
Showing up in AI answers
When somebody asks ChatGPT or Google AI Mode who to call in your town, your Business Profile is the single biggest thing those systems read. A 2026 BrightLocal study of nearly two million citations found that 28.6 percent of everything AI tools cite about local businesses traces back to Google Business Profile. A half filled profile is a half filled answer. We keep yours complete enough to be worth quoting.
Competitor-suggested edits
Your hours, your address, your phone number, and even whether you are marked permanently closed can be changed by a stranger suggesting an edit. Most owners never see it happen. We check for changes and put your information back.
Suspension recovery is its own project.
If your profile is already suspended, that is different work. Reinstatement means figuring out what actually triggered it, gathering the documentation Google will accept, cleaning up whatever caused the flag, and filing an appeal that holds up. It is slow, it is fiddly, and the decision belongs to a reviewer you will never speak to.
So we price it as a one-time project quoted after we look at the situation, not as part of the monthly fee. Rolling it into a retainer would mean pretending the workload is predictable, and it is not.
We cannot promise Google will reinstate you. Nobody honest can. What we can promise is that the appeal gets built properly, the evidence is complete, and we do not waste your time resubmitting the same weak case over and over.
Who this is for.
Service businesses whose customers find them on the map. If someone pulls out a phone, types your trade plus a town, and calls whoever looks credible in the top three, your profile is doing more selling than your homepage is.
It matters even more if you run more than one location or a service area rather than a storefront. Those are the profiles that break most often. Service area businesses hide their address by design, which makes them harder for Google to verify and easier to suspend. Multi-location businesses collect duplicates faster than anyone else because every old listing, every franchise directory, and every past marketing vendor left something behind.
One honest note. If you are already on a Local SEO retainer with us, profile management is already included and you do not need this. This page is the standalone option for businesses that want the map presence handled without buying the full program.
What this will not do.
- It will not make you rank number one
- It will not pad your profile with weekly posts nobody reads
- It will not fix a business with no reviews and no reason to be chosen
- It will not replace a real local SEO program
- It will not guarantee lead volume
Managing a profile is not a ranking strategy. Anyone selling you the top spot in the map pack for a flat monthly fee is selling you something they do not control. Position depends on where the searcher is standing, who else is nearby, and how strong those competitors are.
A word on Google Posts, since most agencies bill for them. In that same 2026 survey of 187 ranking factors, how often you post ranked 148th. It is near the bottom. We will write posts when there is something worth saying, and we would rather put the hour into your services list and your photos, which are the parts that actually move. If you want a post every week regardless, we will do it, but you should know what you are buying.
It also will not carry a business that has nothing behind it. If you have no reviews, no photos worth showing, and nothing that separates you from the other four companies on the map, a well maintained profile just makes that easier to see.
Here is the honest version of what you are buying. Profile management makes sure you show up and look credible when someone is already searching for what you do. The rest is the business itself, and that part is yours.
What it costs.
$195/mo
per profile
Everything in the monthly list above. Monitoring, cleanup, categories, the full services list, photos, reviews, and AI visibility, on one profile.
- Multi-location pricing available. Tell us how many profiles and we will quote it.
- Suspension recovery is quoted separately as a one-time project.
- Already on Local SEO with us? This is included. Do not pay twice.
Where this fits.
Want the whole local program instead of just the profile? That is Local SEO, and in Maryland specifically, Maryland SEO services.
Want to know how many calls the map is actually producing? That is analytics and call tracking. Your profile is a lead source like any other, and it should be attributed like one instead of lumped in with everything else.
Want to understand the whole picture before you hire anybody? We published the entire method as a free 46 page guide. It covers everything on this page and a lot more, and it names the things agencies sell that do not work. That is the AI Search Playbook.

Common questions.
I already pay you for Local SEO. Do I need this too?
No. Profile management is already included in a Local SEO retainer. This page exists for businesses that want the map presence handled on its own without the full program. If you are already on a retainer with us, do not buy this.
Do you still do Google Posts and Q&A?
Q&A is gone. Google removed the public question and answer section from Business Profiles at the end of 2025 and replaced it with Ask Maps, so there is nothing left to monitor and we do not charge for it. Posts we will write when you have something real to say, a finished project, a seasonal reminder, an offer. We will not grind out a weekly post to look busy, because the evidence says it does close to nothing for ranking, and we would rather spend that time on your services list.
What happens if my profile gets suspended?
We handle the appeal as a separate one-time project. Reinstatement work is skilled and the outcome is not in our hands, so we do not fold it into the monthly fee or promise a timeline.
Do you need access to my Google account?
We need manager access to the Business Profile. You stay the owner. You can remove our access at any time and nothing about the listing changes hands.
I have several locations. How does that work?
Pricing is per profile, and multi-location pricing is available. Multi-location and service area businesses are also the ones we see break most often, so they are usually the best fit for this.
Can you do this if my website was built by someone else?
Yes. This service is about the profile, not the site. We do not need to have built anything for you.
Stay on the map. Stay findable.
Send us your profile and we will tell you what is wrong with it before you pay us anything. If it is in good shape, we will say that too.
