Jeff Gutowski

Founder & Lead Developer

Jeff started Break The Image in 2016 after watching too many small business owners get sold a website that looked fine and did nothing. Since then he has built or rebuilt more than 560 sites, including over 50 for pond and water feature contractors, which is more than most agencies build in total. He runs the builds, the SEO, the Google Ads and the tracking himself, so the person you talk to on the discovery call is the person doing the work.

He speaks to contractor groups on how to actually get found online, most recently at the Pond Professionals Alliance Pond Builders' Annual Retreat, where he taught the session Master the Internet. The same material is in the free courses and playbook on this site, because he would rather you understand it than depend on him for it.

What happens if Jeff gets hit by a bus.

Fair question for a small shop. Two answers. First, you own your domain, hosting, code, content, and every Google account, so nothing is locked behind us. Second, we have a bench of web designers we have worked with for years who step in when a project needs more hands or when I am out. Your site does not depend on one person's calendar.

Every build also launches with a handoff: logins, hosting details, and a plain-language map of the site, so any WordPress developer could pick it up in a day.
