MIRA Home for Women
A twelve month faith based women's recovery home in Baltimore, with a Quick Exit button in the navigation.

The Challenge
MIRA Home is a twelve month residential recovery program for women. Two very different people arrive at that site. One is a woman in crisis, or a mother or sister searching on her behalf, and she is scared, skeptical and possibly using a shared device. The other is a donor or church partner looking for something to support. Most recovery program sites write entirely for the second person. They read like grant applications. Clinical language, board photos, mission statements. The woman who actually needs the bed cannot find herself anywhere in it, and there is no consideration for the fact that browsing history can be dangerous for her.
Problems Identified
- Two audiences, applicants and supporters, with opposite needs
- Institutional language that makes a home feel like a facility
- Safety risk for women browsing on a monitored or shared device
- No clear picture of what twelve months actually looks like
- Applications and donations competing for the same attention

What We Built
The homepage speaks directly to the woman. For twelve months, you will call MIRA home. The program is described as a family rather than a facility, with real bedrooms, shared meals, house moms and front porch conversations, because that is what removes the fear of the unknown. A Quick Exit control sits in the main navigation so a visitor can leave the page instantly. The four pillars of the program, Christ at the center, home life, heart to heart care and future preparation, each get their own explanation instead of a bullet list. Job training, education support, life skills and parenting classes are named specifically. Support and giving live in their own clearly marked section so donors are served without hijacking the applicant path. Admissions runs through a direct application with a phone number and an admissions email published on every page.

Site Sections
A woman considering the program can see the bedrooms, understand the year ahead, exit the page in one tap if she needs to, and apply without ever speaking to a stranger first. Donors still get a full support path, just not at the applicant's expense.
