    Cantina Mamma Lucia

37 Years Of Family History Turned Into A Working Ordering Site

A Maryland Italian restaurant where the family story sells the room and the ordering buttons do the rest.

    The Challenge

Cantina Mamma Lucia was founded in 1989 by three brothers, Francesco, Dominick and Anthony D'Antona, and it is still run by the family. That history is the whole differentiator in a corridor full of chain pizza. The problem is that restaurant sites usually bury it. Most of them open with a slideshow, hide the hours, park the menu behind a broken PDF link and force customers to hunt for the ordering platform. Meanwhile the real questions are simple and urgent. Are you open right now. How much is the lunch buffet. Can I order delivery. Do you do catering. Can you host my party. Every one of those answers had to be reachable in one tap on a phone, usually from a car.

    Problems Identified

    • A 37 year family story with nowhere prominent to live
    • Hours, specials and holiday changes buried below the fold
    • Ordering split across two different third party platforms
    • Catering and private room inquiries with no dedicated path
    • Daily and weekly specials that change and need to stay current

    What We Built

The site opens with a running specials bar for the $14.99 weekday lunch buffet, then puts the family story right under the hero, founding brothers named, timeline from 1989 to now. Ordering is handled honestly: the pickup and delivery platforms the restaurant already uses are linked directly rather than wrapped in a fake cart, so orders land where the kitchen actually sees them. Catering and private rooms each got their own page because those are high value inquiries that deserve more than a phone number. The specials block lists the real offers, the $5 Monday pizza deal, the sub combo, the two slice combo, kids eat free Tuesday, so regulars can check without calling. Hours are published in two places, including a footer block that shows the different Friday and Saturday closings and the Sunday schedule.
