    The Challenge

A historic stone cabin built around 1800, sitting on more than 40 acres with Muddy Creek running through it, a hot tub over the water, kayaks and creek tubes, a fire pit and a tree swing. That is a specific kind of trip, and the guests who want it are not searching for two bedrooms in Delta, Pennsylvania. They are searching for a quiet weekend, an anniversary, a place that takes dogs. A standard rental listing cannot carry any of that. It shows bedroom count and a price, and the property competes against motels. The hosts had also earned Premier Host status with a perfect guest rating, which was doing nothing for them off platform.

    Problems Identified

    • A two bedroom count that undersells a 40 acre experience
    • Historic character impossible to convey in a listing template
    • Guests unsure what there is to do in a rural area
    • A perfect guest rating locked into a booking platform
    • Add on experiences with no way to be offered

    What We Built

The site leads with what the trip is, a historic 1800s creekside cabin, two bedrooms, sleeps six, private hot tub and creek access, with pet friendly, the hot tub view and the Premier Host rating as the three badges. The About section separates the two things guests care about: the history, an authentic circa 1800 stone cabin restored with its original walls intact, and the setting, 40 plus acres with deer on the deck and stargazing from the hot tub. Then the site goes further than most rental sites by answering the what will we do question directly, with a local guide to Delta, a set of prewritten itineraries and a dedicated spa getaway package page. Amenities are described by what they let you do rather than listed, kayaks and creek tubes for water fun on the property, an outdoor fire pit for evening s'mores, a tree swing and play area for families. Phone and email are both published, so a guest with an odd question about dogs or dates can just ask.
