"Who should I call" has a different answer depending on where your business is. Here are the seven situations we hear most from contractors in Maryland, and what we would tell each one if they were a friend, including the ones where the answer is not us.

    1. One truck, no website, work comes from word of mouth

Do this first, in this order: claim and fill out your Google Business Profile, get your last ten customers to leave a review, and put up a three-page site so people who hear your name can find a phone number. Our $500 card site does that. So does a builder. Do not buy SEO yet. SEO works on a foundation you do not have.

    2. A site from 2018 that looks fine and never rings

The site is probably not broken; it is probably invisible or unconvincing. Before spending anything, check three things: does it show real jobs with photos and a story, or a stock-photo gallery; does it have a page for each service you actually want to sell; and is your phone number tracked so you would know if it rang. If all three are no, a rebuild with tracking is the right move. That is our Foundation build or Growth plan. If the site has good bones, we will tell you to keep it and fix the pages instead.

    3. Paying an agency monthly, seeing reports, not seeing jobs

First, get your domain, hosting, and Google accounts into your own name before you do anything else. If the agency resists, that is your answer. Second, ask them for a tracked lead report with dates. If they cannot produce one, you are paying for activity, not outcomes. Third, decide whether the problem is the agency or the market. Our free Agency Quiz is built for exactly this. If you leave, we can rebuild and set up tracking so you never have to guess again.

    4. Mid-contract with an agency that holds your site

Read the contract for what you own at the end. Many "website included" plans mean the agency owns the site and you are renting it. Start recovering what you can now: register a new domain if needed, export your content, collect your photos. Time the new build to launch the week your term ends. We have done this transition for clients; it is not fun, but it is routine.

    5. Several crews, a real ad budget, and you miss calls while on jobs

This is where we tell you to look at a bigger agency. RYNO and similar shops offer 24/7 live call answering, appointment booking into your field software, and multi-channel programs. That costs real money, usually $3,000 a month and up, and it is worth it at your size. We can build the site and run ads, but we do not answer your phone.

    6. A new brand launching before a home show or busy season

You need a date more than you need a perfect site. Get your content and photos together first; the clock cannot start without them. We set a launch date in writing when content is approved, and if we miss it for reasons on our side, your care plan is free until we launch. A freelancer can be fast too, if you manage the project and the person stays available.

    7. A pond or water feature builder anywhere in the country

This is our deep end. We have built more than 50 pond contractor sites, we run a free pond SEO course, and most of our pond clients are outside Maryland. If you are a pond builder, start with the free course, then call us if you want it done for you.

When we are not the answer

Fifty locations: a national agency. The cheapest possible site: a builder. Live call answering: RYNO or similar. A site built once and never touched: our care plans will feel like more than you need.

    When we are

An owner-run business with one to a few crews, in any trade, that wants a site built for calls, published pricing, a launch date in writing, accounts in your own name, and the builder on the phone. That is the shape of business we are built for.
